The U.S. Men’s National Team is set to embark on its journey at the 2023 IFA Fistball World Championships against Belgium, in a Group D match at Rhein-Neckar Stadium in Mannheim, Germany on July 21st at 4:00 pm Central European Time (10 am EST). The game will be broadcasted live on fistball.tv, with Kyle Ejsmont providing the play-by-play commentary.
Belgium, alongside Group D opponents Denmark and Serbia, is one of eight European nations participating in the World Championships in Mannheim. Known as the "Red Jellyfists," Belgium secured its spot in the World Championships after finishing 8th in the 2022 European Championships in Caldaro, Italy.
Team Belgium will be making their second World Championship appearance, having previously placed 15th at the 2019 World Championships in Winterthur, Switzerland. The Red Jellyfists boast extensive international experience, having participated in several indoor and outdoor tournaments throughout Europe, including a 9th place finish at the 2018 European Championships in Adelmannsfelden, Germany.
This matchup will mark the first-ever meeting between the United States and Belgium. Both teams are eager to gain an advantage in the competitive Group D, as only the top two teams from the group will qualify for the next round.
