Team USA Ready to Compete in the 2024 Pan American Fistball Championships in Argentina



Buenos Aires - The USA Men’s Fistball Team is geared up to make a powerful showing at the 2024 Pan American Fistball Championships, held from November 14 to 17 at SAG Villa Ballester in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This prestigious event, organized by the International Fistball Association (IFA) and the Pan American Fistball Association (PAFA), will see teams from across the Americas vying for a coveted spot in the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China.


The U.S. squad will be managed by Head Coach Rodrigo Salas and Assistant Coach Denis Nicoladeli, and features a blend of experienced players and promising talent from across the country. The team roster includes:


#1 Robert Weinberger (Setter) – Kansas City, MO

#2 Cliff Barany (All-Around) – Scotch Plains, NJ

#3 Hunter Erdman (Defense) – Germantown, WI

#4 Todd Strassberger (Striker) – Maple Shade, NJ

#5 Daniel Simon-Slowinski (Defense) – Newton, NJ

#6 Spencer Macquarrie (Striker) – Perkasie, PA

#7 Jonathon Borgognoni (Defense) – Newton, NJ

#8 AJ Fesmire (Striker) – Southampton, PA

#9 Kyle Ejsmont (Striker) – Langhorne, PA

#10 Mat Ogin (All-Around) – Maple Shade, NJ


Familiar faces and standouts Todd Strassberger and Mat Ogin return to the roster with experiences in previous Pan American Games, World Championships, and World Games. Daniel Simon-Slowinski, Spencer Macquarrie, Jonathon Borgognoni, and, Kyle Ejsmont all have prior experience with the national team. Simon-Slowinski was the youngest member of last year's World Championship team, while Macquarrie and Borognoni were members of the 2022 Pan-American squad. Ejsmont will leave the IFA broadcast booth and return to the national team. Robert Weinberger, Cliff Barany, Hunter Erdman, and AJ Fesmire all look to make an impact with their national team debuts.


PAFA Championship Schedule and Matchups


Team USA’s journey begins with a demanding first day on November 14, as they face each PAFA nation in a round-robin pool play.


- 7:30 AM EST: USA vs. Bolivia

- 9:30 AM EST: USA vs. Colombia

- 12:00 PM EST: USA vs. Brazil (Live Stream)

- 2:00 PM EST: USA vs. Argentina (Live Stream)

- 4:00 PM EST: USA vs. Chile


The day’s matches will test the endurance and teamwork of Team USA as they face back-to-back games, competing against top teams from Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. The matches will be broadcast live on the IFA’s YouTube channel, FAF TV, allowing fans back home to tune in and support the team from afar.
